Are you an outstanding Geography practitioner with ambitions to lead a department? If so, read on!
We are currently assisting a mixed secondary near Slough as they look to appoint a Head of Geography to join them from April. This role is available on a full-time, permanent basis and would suit someone who has previously held a HOD role,or has held a role of responsibility. Alternatively, this could suit an ambitious teacher who is looking to move into management.
This mixed 11-18 secondary is based near the Berkshire town of Slough and enjoys excellent transport links into London, as well as the neighbouring counties of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The school has a strong local reputation and is supported by a strong SLT.
It is hoped that the successful candidate will hit the ground running. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to relate to young people are essential, as is a thorough knowledge of the curriculum through Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. As Head of Geography you will be expected to forge positive relationships with all stakeholders, and to work with the other HODs within Humanities to help the faculty to reach new heights.
